In my Air-Brush workshops or classes students are provided with learning resources selected for a more positive error-free learning experience. Students then rotate between actual spraying with the airbrush and learning from presentation reels along with selected readings.

These include DVDs along with tutorial various guides provided by various manufacturers of the ever-versatile airbrush.

FUN FACT: In the United States the Airbrush first took off in Chicago in the early 20th century. At one point several major manufactures of the airbrush were located in or near Chicago. (This included Passche, Binks, Thayer-Chandler & Badger.

An airbrush is a small, air-operated tool that atomizes and sprays various media, most often paint, but also ink, dye, and foundation. Spray painting developed from the airbrush and is considered to employ a type of airbrush. The technique allows for the blending of two or more colors in a seamless way, with one color slowly becoming another color. Freehand airbrushed images, without the aid of stencils or friskets, have a floating quality, with softly defined edges between colors, and between foreground and background colors. A skilled airbrush artist can produce paintings of photographic realism or can simulate almost any painting medium. Painting at this skill level involves supplementary tools, such as masks and friskets, and very careful planning.

What Is Spray Painting? Spray painting is the process of applying a thin coat of paint, lacquer or other liquid material to an object or surface. It usually involves the use of compressed air to atomize and propel particles of paint onto the target surface, which then dry quickly to form a uniform coating. This makes it perfect for covering large areas in a short amount of time. It can also be used to apply a variety of other materials, such as sealants, primers and adhesives. Whether you are painting fine art, illustrations, murals, wearable art, make-up, furniture or a house, it is important to select the right size and type of air brush & compressor for your project. The correct air brush, pressure level and tank size will ensure that your painting job is done quickly and accurately.
